Sunset rainbow, Prabost, Skye on Flickr.
© James Dyas Davidson. Well, you go out for a drive to Uig, Duntulm, Flodigarry, Staffin and the Quiraing to capture a sunset (which doesn’t come up to much) and you get this at Prabost on your way home. It really was that intense and the sky was orange. Just to the left of the rainbow you can see the Cuillin ridge in the distance.

Went across to Oronsay (ebb-tide island) this morning, crossing this pebble and beach causeway. A perfect morning. Those are MacLeod’s Tables in the distance.
Sgurr nan Gillean, Skye on Flickr.
Had a spectacular drive up to Skye yesterday. Had to stop on the Sligachan bridge to take this classic view. That’s Sgurr nan Gillean at the end of the Cuilins.

“Easter Morven is a lonely spot, and the empty old house seems to gape across the glens as if searching for its long lost inhabitants. Willie Michie (of Balmenach) looked back: ‘The shepherd used Easter Morven a’ summer and came doon to Ballater in the winter time. The last ones living there were Murisons.’ Willie then added that the only folk that used it since were trappers: ‘We used tae go wi’ the horse and cairt to collect the hares and rabbits once a week.’ ”
